Initially because my wife wants to go to the zoo, at last we both went to the Bali Safari and Marine Park. The zoo is located in Gianyar, Bali. About 45 minutes from Denpasar, precisely on Jalan Baypass Ida Bagus Mantra km 19.8 (Golden Line of Bali) Gianyar.I rented a car with its driver, so that we can use him as our tour guides. The info about car rental information can be obtained at the Ngurah Rai Airport. The rent prices are about Rp 250.000/hour with an addition of Rp 50.000/hour for extra hour.
Travel from Denpasar to Bali Safari and Marine Park takes approximately 45 minutes. On weekdays, the park opened at 09.00 am to 05.00 pm, and on weekend and holiday at 08.30 am to 05.00 pm. We left early in the morning with the consideration before the zoo crowded by visitors. Few tips, do not forget to bring your credit cards because there is sometimes a discount price of admission for a particular credit card users. The normal admission prices for Indonesia ID card holder is Rp 110.000,- for adult and child.The first place we visited was the Lobby Barong. Here we can see a variety of water animals such as tiger fish, piranhas, sharks and catfish.
After the Lobby Barong we headed to the white tiger pavilion. Here we bought ticket to take pictures with the tiger. There are two available types of tickets to take pictures with the tiger, one is taking with own camera or by the officers (professional photo), of course the price for taking photos with own camera cheaper than taking a photo by zoo officials. We took taking pictures by the officers ticket, Rp 80.000,- We also bought some souvenirs at the store in the area of the zoo. It feels incomplete without buying some souvenirs. Variety of souvenirs available like toys, doll,s umbrellas, key chains, stickers and others.
The area of Safari Park is huge, about 40 hectares of splendid natural habitat. I think it'll took all d ay to visit each corner. There are many interesting places to visit, one of them is Komodo Dragon exhibits, the biggest lizard on earth and exists only on Komodo Island National Park, East Nusa Tenggara.
Time passes. Time for me and my wife returned to the hotel. Quite tired but fun. We went home with a rental car to our hotel to continue our other tour on the island of Bali.

Saya menyewa mobil beserta supirnya, sehingga bisa sebagai tour guide kami. Info tentang sewa mobil kami peroleh di bagian informasi Ngurah Rai Airport. Tarif sewa mobil di Bali beragam, umumnya Rp 250.000/5 jam dan ekstra Rp 50.000/jam lebihnya.
Perjalanan dari Denpasar memakan waktu lebih kurang 45 menit. Pada hari biasa, Bali Safari and Marine Park buka pukul 9 pagi sampai jam 5 sore, dan pada hari libur/hari besar, buka mulai pukul 8.30 pagi sampai jam 5 sore. Kami berangkat awal di pagi hari dengan pertimbangan sebelum kebun binatang ramai oleh pengunjung. Sedikit tips, jangan lupa membawa kartu kreditmu karena sewaktu waktu ada discount harga tiket masuk bagi pengguna kartu kredit tertentu. Harga tiket masuk normal bagi pemegang KTP Indonesia adalah Rp 110.000 untuk dewasa dan anak-anak.
Tempat pertama yang kami kunjungi adalah Lobby Barong. Disini kami melihat berbagai macan satwa air seperti ikan piranha, hiu dan lele.
Setelah Lobby Barong kami menuju ke anjungan macan putih. Disini kami membeli tiket untuk berfoto bersama macan. Ada dua jenis tiket untuk berfoto bersama macan yaitu pengambilan sendiri (dengan kamera sendiri) atau dilakukan oleh petugas (profesional photo), tentu saja harga bila mengambil foto dengan kamera sendiri lebih murah daripada pengambilan photo oleh petugas kebun binatang. Kami mengambil tiket berfoto bersama macan yang diambil oleh petugas seharga Rp 80.000Kami juga membeli beberapa souvenir untuk dibawa pulang. Tidak lengkap rasanya berkunjung tanpa membeli souvenir. Ada banyak souvenir tersedia seperti boneka, payung, gantungan kunci, stiker, dan lain-lain.
Areal Taman Safari ini luas sekali, sekitar 40 hektar habitat alami. Saya pikir butuh waktu seharian untuk mengunjungi setiap sudutnya. Terdapat banyak tempat-tempat menarik yang bisa dikunjungi, salah satunya adalah Komodo, kadal terbesar di bumi dan hanya terdapat di Pulau Komodo, Nusa Tenggara Timur.
Tidak terasa hari telah berganti sore. Saatnya saya dan isteri pulang menuju hotel. Cukup lelah namun menyenangkan. Kami pun pulang dengan mobil sewaan menuju hotel kami untuk melanjutkan perjalanan wisata kami yang lain di Pulau Bali.
